So I've been saying that Indonesian currency needs a bigger bill. Currently the biggest one we have is 100k IDR, which is approximately $10. I shit you not. Well considering that we can still get something to eat for less than 10k ($1!), it might be reasonable. Then again all these brand names and fancy food (FATBURGER open up quickly dammit!) are already here too, so it's kinda not reasonable to pay $200 with only $10 bills right? At the very least they should have $20 equivalent, and if possible $50. Anyway, because of that, most people would at least have one credit card cause of how the way things are, and believe me debit cards aren't that popular yet here.
While I'm all up for that, I believe there are still people who would be just okay with the way things are. Just now I was at Guess and there was this middle aged couple buying a watch, $300 (to make it easier in writing it I'm just gonna convert it to USD). Of course at first I thought he was paying by credit card, but to my surprise,
straight cash homey! And it's one thing if he paid with $10, it would probably be reasonable too albeit inefficient still. I still would rather wait at the ATM for the $10 machine rather than the $5 cause it would take much more space right? Well he paid, again STRAIGHT CASH HOMEY!, with $5. Out of his magic pocket he pulled out there fat rolled $5 bills. Awesome. Do the math and that goes to 60 pieces of moolah. Crazy.
So yeah maybe I'm just the one complaining.
