    walla walla walla mitten bump

Man it must've sucked for Roddick when he faced Murray on the semis. Yeah he won but to see like 15 thousand people cheering on the top of their lungs everytime Murray gets a point? Sick. Thankfully the match ended with a lot of applauds for both side, so I guess it's all good, but home court advantage in a Grand Slam tournament is really something. I dunno whether it's the same for the others (Hewitt playing @ Australian Open, Roddick / Blake @ the US Open) though.

And why isn't there much love between the women competitors? You see the men saluting each other (even after the Roddick Federer match), at least engaged in some small talk after the matches while the women just shook hands and leave.

They actually broadcast the Nathan's 4th of July Hot Dog eating contest live on ESPN Asia. Go figure. Why not MNF?!?!

    crispy melt

So I've been saying that Indonesian currency needs a bigger bill. Currently the biggest one we have is 100k IDR, which is approximately $10. I shit you not. Well considering that we can still get something to eat for less than 10k ($1!), it might be reasonable. Then again all these brand names and fancy food (FATBURGER open up quickly dammit!) are already here too, so it's kinda not reasonable to pay $200 with only $10 bills right? At the very least they should have $20 equivalent, and if possible $50. Anyway, because of that, most people would at least have one credit card cause of how the way things are, and believe me debit cards aren't that popular yet here.

While I'm all up for that, I believe there are still people who would be just okay with the way things are. Just now I was at Guess and there was this middle aged couple buying a watch, $300 (to make it easier in writing it I'm just gonna convert it to USD). Of course at first I thought he was paying by credit card, but to my surprise, straight cash homey! And it's one thing if he paid with $10, it would probably be reasonable too albeit inefficient still. I still would rather wait at the ATM for the $10 machine rather than the $5 cause it would take much more space right? Well he paid, again STRAIGHT CASH HOMEY!, with $5. Out of his magic pocket he pulled out there fat rolled $5 bills. Awesome. Do the math and that goes to 60 pieces of moolah. Crazy.

So yeah maybe I'm just the one complaining.

While Venus pretty much steamrolled her way to the finals through the #1 seed Safina, the Serena Dementieva was pretty damn awesome, forcing an almost tie break on all three sets. Hey, gotta root for the good ol' US of A right?

You don't see matchups like this everyday. Kinda unsynchronized in some parts but in most it's quite good.

I'm just going to take the Red Sox / Yankees rivalry for this example, as this is actually the thing that I saw.

So tell me this. If you're a Red Sox fan, which one of these would you be offended more?
    1. Seeing a guy with a Red Sox cap with Yankees color / Yankees cap with Red Sox color
    2. Seeing a guy wearing a Yankees jersey and Red Sox cap at the same time
Okay so I tried googling it and I think there's no franchise in this world that would even produce a cap with the rivals' colorway, so that was kinda added for a comparison. But I DID see someone on example #2, kinda like this guy. Granted I'm not a big fan of either baseball teams but I did the right thing and gave him shit because of that. Like, come on now. Be reasonable, and stop acting ignorant. Can you imagine? A Michigan cap with Ohio State tee? A Laker jersey and Celtics cap during last years finals? Only one word to describe this. POSERRRRRRRRRRR.

    porn mode!

Firefox 3.5 is out. You should really download it now. I mean, really. I'm not a big fan of Chrome (but to be fair I haven't given it that much time anyway since Firefox already suits my needs), Opera (awesome on the phone, at least so far, I'm also kinda waiting on Mozilla's mobile browser to hit Symbian haha), or IE (FUCK THAT), so you might take this as a subjective suggestion, but heck I already sense it's a whole lot faster in loading pages and all that. AND PORN MODE! You'd be lying if you're a guy and say that you're not gonna give this is a shot.

I think I'm quite ready to nominate Earth Wind & Fire's September as one of the best songs ever. Everytime it's lit up, it just sorts of lift the crowd's mood and everything, regardless of age and gender. Awesome.

Anybody tried Nokia OVI yet? It's still in Beta phase but this is supposed to be Nokia's answer to BB Messenger. I dunno whether I would download it since I'm not on an unlimited data plan yet, and judging from Nokia Messaging's (the push mail alternative for Nokia) performance in syncing and stuff, it might not be that reliable. We'll see.

About Me

  • A Cal alumni living his life back in his lovely but polluted and jammed hometown of Jakarta, a city deprived of good American pizza and Gridiron football, living his life to the fullest amongst his dear friends and family, luckily surrounded by insanely great food. Still no good pizza though.
